Construction Laborer

Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble, debris, and other waste materials. May assist other craft workers.

In the next 5-10 years, AI and robotics will likely automate highly repetitive or dangerous tasks, such as material handling, demolition, or precise bricklaying, typically performed by construction laborers. This shift will require laborers to adapt by learning to operate and supervise AI-powered machinery, focusing more on complex problem-solving, quality control, and collaboration with technology. While some roles may evolve, demand for skilled human oversight and non-routine tasks will remain crucial.
