Endoscopy Technician

Maintain a sterile field to provide support for physicians and nurses during endoscopy procedures. Prepare and maintain instruments and equipment. May obtain specimens.

AI will primarily augment, rather than replace, endoscopy technicians within the next 5-10 years. Technicians will increasingly utilize AI-powered tools for enhanced image analysis, lesion detection, and procedural assistance, improving accuracy and efficiency for physicians. This will necessitate developing new skills in operating and interpreting AI software, alongside their continued vital responsibilities for patient preparation, equipment management, and direct support.
