Pump Operator

Tend, control, or operate power-driven, stationary, or portable pumps and manifold systems to transfer gases, oil, other liquids, slurries, or powdered materials to and from various vessels and processes.

AI will increasingly impact pump operators by automating routine monitoring and control tasks, using sensors and machine learning for predictive maintenance to prevent failures. This shift will likely move the role towards remote oversight, data analysis, and troubleshooting of AI-driven systems, reducing the need for constant on-site manual operation.
