Sound Engineering Technician

Assemble and operate equipment to record, synchronize, mix, edit, or reproduce sound, including music, voices, or sound effects, for theater, video, film, television, podcasts, sporting events, and other productions.

AI will significantly automate routine tasks like noise reduction, basic mixing, and mastering, enhancing efficiency for Sound Engineering Technicians. This shift will require them to adapt by developing skills in operating and overseeing AI tools, focusing more on creative direction, problem-solving, and quality control. While some entry-level tasks may be impacted, the role will evolve to leverage AI as a powerful assistant, emphasizing artistic judgment and complex technical execution.
