African Studies

Your week begins with an "African History" lecture, exploring pre-colonial West African empires, their trade routes and social structures. You find yourself captivated by the oral traditions discussed. Later, you delve into readings for "African Cultures," struggling momentarily to locate a specific article on indigenous folklore traditions but ultimately finding it. A quick question to your professor after class clarifies a point about historical biases in sources. In the evening, you hit the campus gym, clearing your head before tackling more readings on the African diaspora.
